How to Backup Your Coaching Data to Google Drive

A simple way to keep a copy of your fee and attendance data safe.

If you use an offline app for fees and attendance, a backup ensures you don’t lose data if the device is lost or damaged. Google Drive is a common and free option.

Why backup?

  • Device loss or damage
  • Switching to a new phone or tablet
  • Peace of mind

Backup is optional. Your main data stays on your device; the cloud is just a copy.

Using Google Drive for backup

  1. Create a folder — e.g. "Batch Tutor Backup" in your Google Drive.
  2. Export from your app — If your app supports it (e.g. Batch Tutor), use "Backup to Google Drive" or "Export" and choose that folder.
  3. Do it regularly — Once a week or after a big batch of fee entries is a good habit.

Keep it private

Use your own Google account. Don’t share the backup folder with others unless you have a clear reason. Check app permissions so only what’s needed (e.g. Drive access for backup) is granted.

Restoring

If you get a new device or reinstall the app, use the "Restore from Google Drive" (or similar) option and pick the latest backup file. Follow the app’s instructions.

Backup doesn’t replace daily offline use—it just adds a safety net when you’re ready to use the cloud.
